Edward Heelas (Msc) is a senior consultant within Idox, and former European Advisor at the UK Research Office (the European office of the UK Research Councils), where he provided support to UK universities on EU Research and Innovation policy and programmes and promoted UK stakeholder engagement in Europe. He is well versed in both UK national and European R&I programmes and related policy, and has particular expertise in aligning project outlines with funder policy goals, and in the development of research and innovation impact proposals. A former life scientist at several London-based universities, Edward has also spent time working on international science strategy at the International Knowledge and Innovation Unit of the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (as was), and, most recently, was a Senior Consultant at the public policy consultancy firm SQW, where he bid for and managed a variety of research, analysis and programme evaluation projects for a wide range of public and private sector clients. Such clients included local and national government, the European Commission and Non-departmental Government Bodies such as InnovateUK. Edward holds a master's degree in Demography and Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a bachelor's degree in Medical Biochemistry from King's College London.
